[REMINDER]: JavaScript Night #4 Tues 3/12 at!

From: Alim S. G.
Sent on: Thursday, March 7, 2019 5:52 PM

Hi everyone,

This is a friendly reminder that next Tuesday (3/12) is JavaScript Night #4 at ApolloMeteorNYC. The event will be held at's Manhattan headquarters. It should be a fun, informative night so come out, mingle, network, and learn some GraphQL. (click here to RSVP.)

We'll start with two presentations on implementing GraphQL for customer-facing apps in large enterprise organizations.

Karan Vohra and Glenn Hinks from American Express will preview their FullStack NYC 2019 talk in person followed by a Q&A session. They're very interested in feedback from those of you who have implemented GraphQL and Apollo middleware. And from the GraphQL Summit 2018, hear the lessons learned by Natalie Qabazard and Aditi Garg from Trulia and see how they differ.

For those new to GraphQL, I'll present an overview of GraphQL CRUD operations and how to think about them if you have a SQL background. We'll cover how you get data with Queries and make changes to underlying data with various Mutation, touching on the concept of Resolvers.

Finally, we'll hear from Bryan Hughes, formerly the Chair of the Node Foundation Community Committee from a presentation he made that covers how the node event loop works under the hood.

Join us! It will be fun.
