[REMINDER]: JavaScript Night #5 Tues 6/11 at Priceline.com!

From: Alim S. G.

Hi everyone,

This is a friendly reminder that this Tuesday (6/11) is JavaScript Night #5 at ApolloMeteorNYC. The event will be held at Priceline.com's Manhattan headquarters. It should be a fun, informative night so come out, mingle, network, and learn some GraphQL, React, and Meteor. (click here to RSVP.)

We'll start with a discussion about changes to the Meteor platform since version 1.6, and discuss how you can get involved in this open source Community. Meteor is an all-in-one platform for building JavaScript desktop, mobile, and web apps quickly, and it continues to evolve.

It will be followed by Cassidy Samelian's presentation of her personal journey becoming a full-stack developer and how React played a role in it. Many in our community have taken a non-traditional path to becoming software professionals, and Cassidy's story about leveraging her strengths as a professional dancer is inspiring. She illustrates her talk with React code.

Finally, Paul Dowman, the CTO and Founder of OK GROW, shared his experience stitching GraphQL schemas together, with some emphasis on the role microservices play. This is a presentation he recorded for the Toronto GraphQL meetup and we'll have a discussion about it afterwards.

Join us! It will be fun.

Regards,

Alim
