The Thursday Evening Hike at Valley Forge (3C6)
***Please note that the temporary hike start time of 6:15 PM for hike dates 4/19 and 4/26. This new start time will enable us to extend our season at Valley Forge by almost a month. We sincerely appreciate everyone's effort to arrive at the hike early or on time in order to make this work*** There will be rolling hills, some climbs, and rocky trails, so you will need sturdy shoes and water. The hike course is designed so that aggressive, moderate and leisurely hikers will sort naturally and everyone gets the challenge level they desire. We will be meeting at the Artillery Park parking lot located on East Inner Liner Drive (GPS[masked] , [masked]) Directions from 202 North or South: Get onto 422 West. Take exit onto Route 23 and make a left into the park. Continue to follow 23 past Washington's Headquarters and make a left onto Gulph Rd and then take the second right onto East Inner Line Drive. Follow same directions if you are coming East bound on 422 ( from Collegeville area), except you will make a right onto Rt 23 to follow into the park. Dogs permitted -park rules require a leash. What we're about

Public Group

Welcome to the AMC - Delaware Valley Chapter Meetup site. The AMC is the Northeast's oldest outdoors club and one of its most respected. The AMC is built on the pillars of conservation, outdoors education and in getting people out on the trails. Our "About" page provides more information about the AMC and our Chapter. We ask that when you join you submit a photo and tell us a little about yourself. It's not mandatory that you provide this information but it's useful to many members who want to meet people with similar interests.

Our activity leaders are experienced outdoors people who volunteer their time and expertise. All leaders receive training in activity and risk management prior to leading Chapter activities. Safety is always our number one concern. We recognize that hiking and our other activities involve elements of risk that cannot be avoided. Participants must accept the risk and take responsibility for their own safety.

If you are not participating in an event and have not previously indicated that you are attending there's no need to indicate you are not coming. For our type of group that information is not essential.
