Art in the Garden! Bring your own or share in projects

Hayes Valley Art Works

Our Meetups are moving back into the garden!! Throughout covid, we were virtual on Zoom but now that reopening is happening June 15, we will be out in the garden again!

On Saturdays we host "Art in the Garden" for artists of all ages and levels. We also host an Art Cart Activation on Hayes/Octavia.

We are here and we hope you will join us!

We will still have some virtual art making. Every other weekend (NOT DURING JULY) we have an online Watercolor Workshop. See our meetup for WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP.

Bring your easel, paints, pencils, or other projects and join us as we share the lovely outdoor setting to work on artworks. Work on individual projects, or join in group art and craft projects (as available - not every weekend).

We will meet Saturdays from 1 to 2. Look forward to meeting you!

Donations of art materials or a small cash donation to support the space are welcome but not required.

Join us Sundays for Writing & Weeding!

We've all had times when we just can't seem to figure out how to the words out. Sitting with other writers in the "Shut Up & Write" group really helps. Or, simply dive into gardening!

In our unique garden setting, you can also literally weed out your thoughts by taking some time to pull weeds in a community garden. Getting our hands in the dirt can sometimes inspire creative flow.

Theme is open. Poetry, prose, fiction, non-fiction. Bring your own project to work on, or use the suggested themes and writing prompts announced at each meeting. Writers are free to share from their writing or not, as they wish.

This event is linked with the Shut Up & Write event - https://www.meetup.com/shutupandwriteSFO/events/kxvnksyccjbrb/

Please register at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZcrcO2oqz8qEtT7-AO2uriJp8LQdmuG7ywf

Introductions at 3:00.
3:10-4:00 writing/weeding time
4:00- - stay on if you wish to discuss, share, or continue writing or help pull weeds!
ALL ARE WELCOME!

Note, currently there is no power hooked up in the garden site, so if you are planning to write on your laptop, please bring fully charged.

There is no fee for the meetup.

Donations to support Hayes Valley Art Works are welcome (donation jar), but not required.
