Artistic Artifacts (https://www.artisticartifacts.com) at 4750 Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria, VA is the source for the latest “creative finds for creative minds” — no matter your medium, you'll find products, and techniques for your fiber and mixed media projects. Paid classes/workshops with talented instructors and special events are scheduled on a regular basis, and our shop is also home to the monthly meetings of Judy’s Altered Minds (JAMs), a free altered art group open to all who are interested. We’re an authorized BERNINA dealer and carry a full line of WonderFil Specialty Threads as well as a full range of fabrics and art supplies. - Beginning Free Motion Quilting with Barbara RoweArtistic Artifacts, Alexandria, VA
Learn and practice a variety of free motion quilting patterns with your domestic sewing machine! Class will include discussions of how to use these patterns and how they effect the look of your quilt. Note that while this is a beginning free motion quilting class, sewing experience is required (this is not a beginning sewing class), as is good working knowledge of how your machine works.

We’re happy to welcome mixed media artist Seth Apter back to our shop! His third fabric collection from FreeSpirit Fabrics is named On Your Mark and you can see it used in gorgeous quilts and artworks during this lecture event — last year’s was a lot of fun as he unveiled Live Out Loud, and this new collection is a great complement to those designs! Purchase your $35 ticket from Artistic Artifacts, which includes:
- Special shopping hours after 5:00 pm, with appetizers and drinks and extra discounts!
- Attendance at An Evening with Seth Apter, 7:00 pm lecture in our first floor classroom as he shares details on the process of translating his artwork into beautiful fabric, shows his original artwork and more!
