What we’re about

"Organized to foster a greater networking of individuals engaged in capturing and portraying the human figure in diverse ways. Artists, photographers, make-up artists, figure models, photography models and fashion models."  David R. Quammen (1939-2016), Our Founder, RIP

Announcing events for the Figure Models Guild of the Washington DC area, and for the associated gallery (and the Guild's old headquarters) the MOCA-DC art gallery, formerly in Georgetown, DC.
The Guild was founded in 2001 to promote professionalism among Life Models (also termed Figure Models, Artists' Models, or--somewhat inaccurately, since it's not always done nude--Nude Models) in the Washington DC area.
*****THE FIGURE MODELS GUILD IS IN A STATE OF TRANSITION!  Our founder and leader, David Quammen died at the end of January, 2016.*****
Before David left us, he did manage to find us--tentatively, at least--a new home.  He also handed over to someone the model registry and the directory of modeling venues--as well as the operation of our Model Training sessions.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN FROM HERE, NOBODY REALLY KNOWS!  But there is hope that something will continue--that what David Quammen started will not die with him, but will continue as his memorial and legacy!
