THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED! Mount Royal University has chosen to cancel this event as a result of the tragic incident in New Zealand. ASC feels that to cancel this event communicates to terrorists, in general, that these tactics will accomplish their objectives.

Instead we should encourage open discussions, even those with which we adamantly disagree. All parties can learn from the conversation. Suppressing it can only do harm. Most importantly, demonstrating strength and camaraderie will discourage the aggressors.

When heinous acts, such as those of the gunman in New Zealand, are carried out, it is critically important to respond in such a way as to send the right message. Because, in such situations, the attackers' goals are to engender fear and terror, any response should exhibit the opposite result. As well, creating and sustaining a conversation among parties has the greatest chance of reducing stress and stimulating personal and community growth in the right direction.

WE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO JOIN US AT 7:30 AT CSPACE TO HEAR ARMIN SPEAK!
