"The Purpose of the Atlanta Astronomy Club shall be Educational, Literary and Scientific and Especially to Promote the Public Knowledge of, and Interest in, Astronomy" The Atlanta Astronomy Club was created in 1947 for all levels of amateur astronomers to meet and pursue their hobby. Once a month, we have a General Meeting, with guest speakers, that is open to the public and a Dark Sky observing event for Club members . We also are offer educational outreach events for schools, parks, scout groups, etc. The AAC also has a chapter that meets at the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Management area once a month

Cosmic Conversations at Fernbank Science Center
Fernbank Science Center, 156 Heaton Park Drive, Atlanta, GA, USGSU is excited to announce the next public talk in their 'Cosmic Conversations' series at the Fernbank Science Center planetarium, featuring Dr. Viacheslav (Slava) Sadykov on December 4th.
- $10 - ticket price for the 7pm planetarium show ($5 for students), which will lead directly into Dr. Sadykov's talk
- $5 - ticket price for Dr. Sadykov's talk, beginning at 8pm

Dr. Sadykov will be discussing space weather, our methods of detecting space weather, and how we are employing cutting-edge artificial intelligence techniques to predict solar weather events.
Dr. Sadykov is one of GSU's resident solar experts, and focuses his research on solar flare activity. He also serves as one of the main developers of the Interactive Multi-Instrument Database of Solar Flares and the Radiation Data Portal (https://data.nas.nasa.gov/helio/).4 attendees
