Event-stream exploit / Integrating VueJS and Laravel with Devise 2
Details
This month we'll have Kevin Brown from Axio on the topic of event-stream/copay exploit code walkthrough. And then Gary Williams
from LogicBomb Media to talk about Integrating VueJS and Laravel with Devise 2.
Talk 1:
A targeted attack against the co-pay bitcoin wallet was written into a widely used npm package. Much has been written about
the weaknesses in the ecosystem that enabled this attack. Instead, this talk will focus on the code itself.
The speaker has re-created the attack code substituting an innocuous payload. In this talk he will briefly walk through
and demo that code.
Kevin Brown is Vice President of Development at Axio. a cyber risk-engineering firm. Kevin has worked at eight startups,
one government organization, and three Fortune 500 companies. If you’ve flown on an F-16, downloaded a credit report,
watched cable television, or received a text message, you’ve likely interacted with his software.
Talk 2:
The content management solutions that are popular today are still living in the past without leveraging the amazing progress
the Open Source community has made with bundling and front-end Javascript. With Devise you can marry two of the best solutions
for JavaScript and PHP to create a highly customizable, multi-tenant content management solution while at the same time
taming the sometimes incredibly frustrating task of workflow setup, management, and final packaging.
During this talk we will show you how you can empower your content management team, develop universal features,
integrate data-driven SPA apps, and get it all up and running for development in minutes.
No matter what flavor of framework you call home we would love to show you this amazing open source package,
our workflow, and discuss with you what you would like to see next.
Gary has a PHP developer for about 18 years. In 2007 he started a web development company focused on marketing websites
and Flash applications. Today his company focuses on retained clients and they occasionally take on new clients that
are focused on larger marketing campaigns. The technologies that they use day-to-day are primarily PHP (specifically, Laravel),
Javascript (typically, VueJS), Swift, and Java.
