Come join Auckland Social Events for a fun day trip away from the city — nature, good food, and great company...and incredible photography opportunities..and splendid isolation here..away from the crowds.

🚗 The Adventure
Scenic 90-minute drive from Auckland to Waikaretu Valley (South-West Waikato)
Enjoy rolling farmland, sheep spotting... and a peaceful rural landscape..near the west coast in between Port Waikato and Raglan..not many Aucklanders know about this highly popular destination for weekend adventures.

Heading south towards Hamilton....we exit the motorway at Mercer Food Complex (last fuel stop). Then its an hour slower drive to reach Nikau Cafe..and join others here to do a Nature walk to the Waterfall..then back for Lunch..Pizza anyone? Beers ?

🚶‍♂️ The Walk
Easy-paced bush walk on a nature trail
Approx 40 mins each way to the waterfall
Plenty of stops for:
Resting
Photos
Learning about local flora & fauna
No boardwalks – wear sturdy walking shoes

💦 The Waterfall
Stand under it to cool off, or relax and watch others
Optional swim holes (including one above the falls)

Walk back the same way to the carpark, café & toilets

🍕 Lunch at Nikau Café
Famous rural café set among limestone formations.

Run by Anne & Phillip, featured on Country Calendar
Long shared tables or plenty of outdoor seating
Food options include:
Handmade pizzas (4 sizes, generous toppings)
Burgers, fries & fresh salads
Vegetarian, vegan & animal-based options
Coffee is roasted on site

Come and enjoy the fabulous entertainment by a variety of Elvis impersonators...6 from New Zealand. .and there's a rumor that an American Elvis Entertainer from Las Vegas will make a surprise visit here in Henderson this Sunday 11th January.

This Free Family and Friends and Elvis Fans day is held here every year...and now is your opportunity. .With all day Entertainment...Food trucks...and Ice cream and drinks available ...And Classic Cars ...Elvis Presley entertainers....Dressed in a variety of 50's Costumes....Singing all Elvis songs ..There's also plenty of reasons to be here ...Bring your mates...and perhaps the whole family and friends visiting Auckland this Summer Season ..

Elvis is in the Park...and there's many people coming here for the Free Music all day...

Being put on by the Memories of Elvis Clubs in Auckland and Beyond...all over NZ...there's also a Hot Rod and Custom Cars Show here today. With Rock and Roll Dancing Clubs attending...You’ll get free dance lessons if you wish . Or just dance with the crowds expected here today..

There's also Elvis Tee Shirts for sale and other memorabilia...at $35 to wear and show others you are a Fan.

Many people come dressed up for the Days Activities..Food trucks and Coffee here too...and Children entertainment too..Something for everyone's pleasure and socializing interests.

We will be here at 10am to Meet first.

Then carrying everything you Need ...We walk from the Cars over the bridge to access Cranwell Park where it is all happening here from 11am when Elvis starts singing...to 5pm.

So choose to arrive anytime you want. Expect huge numbers around 1pm for lunch.

Let's make a day of being here with Auckland Social Events. Look out for me wearing Orange Fluro Top..Or grab your friends and family and arrive earlier..or during the day.

Walk in directly from Cranwell Park on Alderman Drive. By the Wave Pools.

Alternatively grab the Train to Henderson from Auckland CBD.

Free Carparking at Tui Glen Reserve until around Midday ..is bound to be filled as the Weekend Weather Conditions are Much Better than previous.

Bringing a Portable picnic chair is highly recommended today if you want to be comfortable..Most people bring along one to sit on. Get one cheaply at The Warehouse..before Sunday.

Be sure you bring Sun Protection today..Water; Etc.

Food trucks here all day..Or Bring lunch..picnic etc .

Bring along Cash for the Elvis Fan Club Raffles throughout the day..5 amazing prizes up for grabs.

This is Free Family Entertainment by 6 Elvis Presley entertainers . .and perhaps the American...

Generally about 5 thousand people attend.
