Every month of the year we'll set a nice pace at one of our L.I. board walks, arboretums, preserves and interesting old towns & villages. We'll walk, talk and maybe stop for a snack along the way. You'll make some new friends along the way too. These walks usually take place on Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesday afternoons, and will be 3 to 6 miles long. Nothing too serious, just enough to set up the remainder of your day. So join up and enjoy a good walk with your new best friends.
A $10 fee (dues) will be collected at the first walking event that you attend. This fee is collected semi-annually (every six months) and entitle's you (and your guests) to attend all hiking and walking events that are posted on the Boardwalk site including city walks.
Limited Gathering Event
In keeping with the social distancing edict masks are needed along with social distancing of at least 6 feet. Now that we are in phase 3 we're able to increase the number of members attending a bit and normalize our lives a tad. Sorry no guests, only members on this walk.
We’ll be trying something different on our walk in Sunken Meadow on Sunday. The entire walk will be about 3 miles with our usual walk on the boardwalk and a short walk through the wooded area.
We'll meet for our Sunken Meadow walk in front of the park offices (bathrooms) by parking field #1. The walk will start at 11 AM sharp. There will be a parking fee for those without Empire passes. --Lee
Sunken Meadow Parkway going north goes directly into the park.
Those who need to pay their Boardwalk dues ($10) can do so at this event.
Don't be a No Show. We wait for members to arrive.
