With the Unite (https://unity3d.com/unite/boston) conference being held in Boston a just few short weeks from now, Unity developers will be focusing on advances in VR! This month BUG is proudly offering stereo talks on VR, in a new venue and with free food!

Virtual Reality Meets Actual Reality: Challenges Integrating Diverse Hardware within Unity3D

Description:
In this session, we will discuss challenges and potential pitfalls that can occur when working with a diverse set of hardware within the Unity3D platform. We will tackle hardware such as the Oculus Rift, Omnidirectional Treadmills, Joysticks, and Webcams. Each piece of hardware comes with its own set of challenges. I will discuss how we overcame some of these obstacles within Unity3D.

Bio:
Vinny is a Senior Software Engineer with Ohsome Interactive (http://ohsomeinteractive.com/), a digital firm specializing in the experiential industry. Before Ohsome Interactive, Vinny spent eleven years in the Life Sciences industry and three years as a consultant specializing in cutting edge technologies and game development. Vinny has been involved with the Boston Indie community and has released games for both Mobile (iOS/Android) and PC.

VR Ins and Outs: Implement All The Things!

Description:
A dive into how to implement the major VR headsets (Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Gear VR, Google Cardboard), as well as various types of VR input: physical motion controllers (Razer Hydra, Vive controllers), optical trackers (Leap Motion), and traditional inputs (gamepads, keyboard + mouse), without letting the codebase fall into chaos.

Bio:
Jono is a developer and designer working on VRMT (http://vr-mt.co), a VR worldbuilding app coming to all VR platforms. He’s worked on a handful of PC, mobile, and VR projects at Defective Studios (http://defectivestudios.com/), and previously worked as a 3D modeler and animator.
