Building Mixed Reality Experiences with the Microsoft HoloLens

  • Nov 17, 2016 · 7:00 PM

For our November 17th  meetup, Gavin Bauman of Microsoft will be talking about building games and apps using Unity for the Microsoft HoloLens. Our host Akamai will once again be sponsoring pizza, beverages and the venue so please RSVP to ensure there’s enough food for all!  Note the date change; our normal date (first Thursday of the month) coincides with Unite.

The HoloLens is here! Join Microsoft Technical Evangelist Gavin Bauman as he details the difference between Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Mixed Reality, describes how to develop 2D and 3D holographic applications that interact with the real world, and delivers some epic HoloLens demos!

Gavin Bauman works for Microsoft as a Technical Evangelist in the Boston area. He’s given numerous technical talks at local events such as Boston Code Camp and national events like PAX East on game, mobile, and cloud app development. When he’s not punishing plebs in Mortal Kombat, he spends his time creating cool and quirky mobile apps.

Please RSVP so we can ensure enough food and drinks for the attendees!

Thanks to our sponsors! Unity and Akamai are generously sponsoring our meetup again this month.

See you there!

Thanks for the introduction to HoloLens!

I've attached the gist of my notes for those who couldn't make it. You could also try asking Gavin for his slides.

Really glad to find there was a meetup group for unity. Even better to find that they meet at my company's building.

As a tabletop game designer, the Hololens is something that really interests me. That said, I am sadly unable to make tomorrow's event. Someone take good notes on best practices for tabletop game designers interested in introducing AR into their games? Thanks!

Michael, so sorry to hear you can't make it. Keep an eye on Meetup, though as I'll be delivering a few of these talks in the near future!
