What we're about

Welcome to the BMW Bikers of Metropolitan Washington, Meetup site. This is where we organize rides but our website, https://www.bmwbmw.org , has the other membership benefits. We invite prospective members to join us for a Meetup ride before joining the club. We are among the largest BMW motorcycle clubs in the US. We emphasize camaraderie, rider education and safety, ride explorations/rallies. We enjoy riding the wonderful roads in the Mid-Atlantic region, as well as, places more distant. We have a great enthusiasm for all aspects of motorcycling and would love to share this with fellow motorcyclists. Although we are a BMW club, we welcome all riders of all types of bikes!

46th Annual BMWBMW Square Route Rally

YMCA Camp West Mar

The 46th Annual Square Route Rally is at the YMCA Camp West Mar in central Maryland's Catoctin Mountains. Yes, it's the 47th year but we had to skip 2020. It's an ideal rally site, boasting bunkhouses for those who don’t wish to camp, acres of camping on comfortable grass fields or under a mature tree canopy, a large dining hall, a large, open pavilion loaded with picnic tables that serves as Beer Haus & Seminar Central, and of course large spacious bathrooms & shower houses.

Preregistration Fee: $45 for a Member, $50 for a Non-Member, and $10 per child.
On-site Registrations will be $10 more.
Camping Included, Bunkhouse $5 per day, T-shirts $15 when you pre-register but more on-site. (The Guided Antietam Battlefield Tour will be an extra $15).
Backcountry Discovery Routes Logo
For our SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER we have invited an Ambassador from the Backcountry Discovery Routes https://ridebdr.com
Your registration fees include Friday’s Chili meal and a Saturday dinner of BBQ with all the trimmings. It also includes a light breakfast fare (coffee, juice, pastry, fruit, etc.) on Saturday & Sunday morning. Thirsty? We will have a variety of adult beverages available or you can bring your own. We’ll keep the lemonade, ice tea and coffee readily available. Grab a draft from the keg and swap lies around the campfire! Bunkhouse beds are a modest extra fee as is an optional tour of the Antietam battlefield by a licensed guide.
The roads are perfect for summer riding as they wind along streams and through forested hills – we’re a stone throw from part of the BDR (MA BDR section 3). You also have a choice of wide sweepers through Pennsylvania's Michaux State Forest, tight two-lane along the C&O Canal, or GS trails for your Beemer to explore. But if you stumble upon the gate into Camp David, make a quick U-Turn. Civil War buffs have a multitude of choices including Gettysburg, Sharpsburg (Antietam), South Mountain, the C&O Canal and Harper's Ferry. For those interested in Arts & Shopping both Gettysburg and Shepherdstown boast many galleries, shops and sidewalk cafes in restored downtown.
