  • 48th Annual Square Route Rally

    YMCA Camp West Mar

You must sign up at https://bmwbmw.org/srr to specify your menu options and if you want to camp or stay in the bunkhouse.

The 48th Annual Square Route Rally will be held at the YMCA Camp West Mar in Maryland's Catoctin Mountains. It's an ideal site with bunkhouses and acres of comfortable grass fields or a mature tree canopy for those who enjoy tents. It also has a large dining hall, an open pavilion with picnic tables that serves as Beer Haus & Seminar Central, and large spacious bathrooms & shower houses.
Attendees will enjoy 3 days and 2 nights of excellent rides in the Catoctin Mountains with Washington, D.C. and historic Sharpsburg, Harper's Ferry, and Gettysburg within an hour's ride away. The roads are perfect for summer riding as they wind along streams and through forested hills – we’re a stone throw from part of the BDR (MA BDR section 3). You also have a choice of wide sweepers through Pennsylvania's Michaux State Forest, tight two-lanes along the C&O Canal, or GS trails for you and your Beemer to explore. If you stumble upon the gate into Camp David, make strongly suggest you make a quick U-Turn. Civil War buffs can enjoy Gettysburg, Sharpsburg (Antietam), South Mountain, the C&O Canal and Harper's Ferry. For those interested in Arts & Shopping, both Gettysburg and Shepherdstown boast many galleries, shops, and sidewalk cafes in beautifully restored downtown areas.

This rally is open to BMW motorcycle owners or bikers that ride other brands.

Join us as we ride from SRR to the BMW MOA National Rally

At the end of the Square Route Rally on Sunday, we will have a planned ride or rides depending on attendance to the Meadow Event Park for the BMW MOA's 50th National Rally. Enjoy two rallies with a scenic & leisurely ride linking them. Sign for this Square Route to the National ride on Meetup and join the discussion.
Preregistration saves money and is the only way to reserve a bed in the bunkhouse. It also gets you with an extra ticket for both the door prize and grand prize drawings! Hurry and pre-register now as the pre-registration window closes on May 15th. Walk-ins are welcome but we can’t guarantee bunkhouse space. If all else fails, there are plenty of places to hang a hammock!

  • Ride from the Square Route Rally to the BMWMOA National Rally

    YMCA Camp West Mar

This ride starts when the Square Route Rally ends and travels to the Meadow Event Park for the start of the BMWMOA's 50th National Rally. The route is to be determined.

Depending on what people are interested in, we could ride down the length of the Eastern Shore, across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, up the James Peninsula via Williamsburg and Jamestown, to the National Rally site.

Alternatively, we could ride through Skyline Drive, the Shenandoah Valley, and Blue Ridge Parkway. Route to be determined.

We plan on arriving Wednesday evening but will adjust when we learn more about the rally schedule. Only rally volunteers may arrive on Wednesday, and I plan on volunteering. We will see what the group wants to do.

To prepare for this ride, register for the BMWMOA National Rally at BMWMOA Registration Site and register for the BMWBMW Square Route Rally.
