What we're about

Hi and welcome to Bangkok Runners.

Our group started running together in June 2012 and we have been steadily growing in numbers, meetups, events and distances run.

Several of us are training for events, several have run Ultra Marathons, several are just starting out and several are cross training for other events such as Triathlons.

We are really mixed in experience, goals, age and nationalities.

What unites us?

We enjoy running, we enjoy running together and enjoy meeting up whether running, eating or drinking.

If you would like to get fitter, stay fit, lose weight, run more, run more often, make some new friends, sweat more, or are just a bit crazy you will probably enjoy yourself, and we you.

If you are thinking about running but not sure about a group, please come and join us for 2-3 runs BEFORE signing up. All the details are on meetup, and you are welcome to come and join us for a run. After a few months we delete members who don't ever run or check the meetup website, just to keep email down and to be really clear who is interested and who is just thinking about it. The meetup system counts people as "Inactive" if they haven't checked into the website at least once in three months. These are the people who then tend to get deleted. If this happens, please don't take it personally, members are always welcome to sign up again when they have the time or extra motivation too.

Run and Have Fun!

Evening Run at Benjakitti

Benjakiti Park

For those who are not early morning risers or prefer evening smelles, I and few others usually run at Benjakitti park on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We meet at 1.0km mark on the running track (which run anti-clock wise) and do various routines - slow pace, fast pace, no pace, etc. Please join us if you are in that area. This park will soon get larger, and you will be able to do a 2.5km plus loop as against current 1.82k. If you are not familiar with park, there is a kiosk for water (in the car park area) and at the exit near 1.8k mark. Plenty of clean toilets. We are usually doing loops until 7pm. How to find us? Run clockwise and ask everyone if they are BR.. until you find someone. Or just wait at 1.0km mark, and we will find you. Join us today or on Thursday, or next week. See you. Suradej, Vikas, Surat..!!

Lumpini Park Morning Run

Lumphini Park (inside Gate 2)

Join us in Lumpini park for a nice morning run! Meeting time at 6:21 AM ( Bruce comes on the first MRT train-don't start without him) inside gate 2 (Wireless Road / Rama 4 junction - exit 3 of MRT Lumpini) - come into the park and you will find us (check the red star below). For new members, please note that if you arrive late and we already started, run in the opposite direction (clockwise) and look for runners wearing Bangkok Runners shirts! See you there!

Easy Peasy Benjakitti Run (easy run, your own pace & distance)

Come enjoy a casual run to keep that cardio clean! Easy peasey means 3-4 loops around the park (1.8km per loop) at a pace of 7-9minutes/km..., veteran runners are always welcome to run at your own pace. We'll wait five minutes before starting the run at 6:35am. If you arrive after that, simply run in the opposite direction to meet us. There are drinking fountains along the running route, but if you don't want to risk it, bring your own water. The drink stand along the car park does sell drinks but their opening times are iffy. BY THE WAY: If you wake up and it's raining, the meetup is postponed. You know, it's that Thai monsoon rain thing..... Here's where we'll meet in the park. It's the north end of the park, near the car park and park entrance. We'll be on the running track.
