What we're about

Hi and welcome to Bangkok Runners.

Our group started running together in June 2012 and we have been steadily growing in numbers, meetups, events and distances run.

Several of us are training for events, several have run Ultra Marathons, several are just starting out and several are cross training for other events such as Triathlons.

We are really mixed in experience, goals, age and nationalities.

What unites us?

We enjoy running, we enjoy running together and enjoy meeting up whether running, eating or drinking.

If you would like to get fitter, stay fit, lose weight, run more, run more often, make some new friends, sweat more, or are just a bit crazy you will probably enjoy yourself, and we you.

If you are thinking about running but not sure about a group, please come and join us for 2-3 runs BEFORE signing up. All the details are on meetup, and you are welcome to come and join us for a run. After a few months we delete members who don't ever run or check the meetup website, just to keep email down and to be really clear who is interested and who is just thinking about it. The meetup system counts people as "Inactive" if they haven't checked into the website at least once in three months. These are the people who then tend to get deleted. If this happens, please don't take it personally, members are always welcome to sign up again when they have the time or extra motivation too.

Run and Have Fun!

ps. Don't forget we have lots of extra information and social chat on Facebook

Upcoming events (4+)

The 2023 Easy Peasy Expanded Benjakitti Park Run - Social Distanced

Come enjoy a casual run to keep that cardio clean!

Easy Peasy means 2-3 loops around the park (1.8km per loop, or 2km inside the Forest Park) at a pace of 7-8minutes/km..., veteran runners are always welcome to run at their own pace. Or sometimes we just head right into the Forest Park portion, or a mix of both.

We'll wait five minutes before starting the run at 6:35am. If you arrive after that, simply run in the opposite direction to meet us.

There are drinking fountains along the lakeside running route, but if you don't want to risk it, bring your own water. (The drink stand along the car park has gone away.)

BY THE WAY: If you wake up and it's raining, the meetup may be postponed. Please Check the meetup chat.
You know, it's that Thai monsoon rain thing.....

Here's where we'll meet in the park. It's at the north end of the park, near the car park and park entrance. We'll be on the running track.

Farewell Run - Rama 9 Park to Nong Bon Park and back 11km

Suan Luang Rama IX Park

Dear Bangkok Runners,
As I will be leaving Thailand next month with my family back to Europe, I would like to invite you for a very casual run at pace 7:00min/km to bid a farewell to you guys. We start at Rama Rama 9 Park at 7am and run to Nong Bon for one loop and then back to Rama 9 Park were we finish at S&P at the Lake for a Mango Smoothie. No hardcore Trail, I promise :-)
It was a pleasure to be Admin for Bangkok Runners for the last 11 Years and we build something special together with everyone of you.
I have enjoyed being a host for many Trail Runs around Bangkok and beyond. Keep the BR Spirit alive.
Hope to see many of you there at the Park.
