Basic Income Discussion: Skepticism of the Idea

Details
For our third week, we'll be focusing on some of the skepticism surrounding basic income, much of which is perfectly reasonable.
We'll have two optional readings, one pro-UBI and one anti-UBI.
The pro-UBI reading is a blog post written by Madeleine Kando, who is a member of our meetup group:
http://european-americanblog.blogspot.com/2015/04/universal-basic-income-idea-whose-time.html
The anti-UBI reading is an article is from The Economist entitled "Basically Flawed":
https://www.economist.com/news/leaders/21699907-proponents-basic-income-underestimate-how-disruptive-it-would-be-basically-flawed
Both articles are from a few years ago, but they each represent common arguments that tend to arise in the debate about basic income. We'll use the white board again and keep the discussion focused on the points from the article.
By popular demand, we're going to be live streaming this meetup. If all goes according to plan, the live stream should be accessible via this URL:

For those who are driving, there is free street parking across the street, but it might be tough to find a spot. There are also meters on Kirkland St and Oxford St near the bend where they connect. The meters are free after 8pm.
