Join the Atheist/Humanist Contingent in Gay Pride Parade on Sunday, June 30th
Again this year local groups will form an Atheist/Humanist Contingent in the Pride Parade. Last year we had over 60 people, and it was lots of fun. There is something special about many people cheering as you march in the parade. Let's make it larger this year.
Remember that the arguments against LGBT rights are rooted in religion, just like the attacks on women's rights. Let's support our natural allies.
We are expected to assemble at 11:30 on Beale between Howard & Folsom in downtown SF. Although we know we will wait quite awhile, please be there by 12:00. Our lineup number is 235. If you have trouble finding us, ask for our lineup number and name.
We need two official Contingent Monitors for every 25 people in our group. This means we need at least 6 monitors. Trainings are MANDATORY for certification as a contingent monitor. Training is at several locations in the Bay Area. Please be sure to notify Larry ([masked]) if you intend to be a Contingent Monitor. He must know that we have enough monitors ASAP.
*Be sure to register after the training as a Monitor for our group, Bay Area Atheist/Humanist Groups, aka Atheist Groups (Application #9762). *
The training last an hour and advance registration is not required. Please arrive on-time to prevent being turned away from a full training class.
Training dates and venues are changed often. Be sure to click here (http://sfpride.org/parade/contingent-monitors.html) for the latest dates and info.
