What we're about

The Bay Area is a hub for top talent, but how can we, as learning professionals, utilize the best learning methods to develop that talent even further? This group is for learning and development professionals who want to discuss best practices, strategies, and innovation in learning design and instructional technology. Collectively, we can address workplace learning challenges and share transformative learning experiences.

Making Learning Work: Integrating Learning Science & Engagement

Join us for another fun and informative evening in collaboration with Innovative Technologies for Learning (https://www.meetup.com/Learning-Innovations-Meetups/)

Description:
Learning Experience Design, ideally, is an elegant integration of learning science and engagement. Too often what we see violates both elements! Bullet points and knowledge quizzes are highly unlikely to lead to any behavioral impact. What do we do instead?

In this event, we'll be working on the critical elements that make a difference in learning outcomes: both the core practice and the emotional 'hook'. We'll cover what's necessary to make a practice that leads to adoption, and we'll work through how to make an appropriate 'call to learn'. You'll practice applying these principles to representative learning tasks, and we'll workshop the outcomes to draw out key opportunities and misconceptions. You'll leave with a refined notion of what works, and how.
