One of the biggest challenges facing the learning industry today is understanding what skills people need to learn, how effective certain learning solutions are, and how it impacts businesses. Learning-based analytics and metrics is a big opportunity for the learning industry than can help shape how learning is used and implemented both in businesses and people's personal lives. In this meetup, we will join speakers that will share their experiences using learning analytics in different ways. The topics addressed by our speakers include using learning analytics as a predictive model that provides actionable information to address skill gaps. We will also explore the interpretation of several data points to interpret the effectiveness of learning within businesses beyond the smile sheet.

Shivani Rao will be discussing how LinkedIn uses AI to surface learning needs in order to recommend courses its members using AI and data collected from several sources such as member skills, hiring trends and industry trends.
Dr. Clark Quinn
Clark is a learning industry thought leader and the author of, "Millennials, Goldfish & Other Training Misconceptions: Debunking Learning Myths and Superstitions" and "Revolutionize Learning & Development: Performance and Innovation Strategy for the Information Age." In this session, Clark will discuss ways businesses can leverage the Kirkpatrick model past Level 1 in order to gain more insight into the impact of learning.
