Alberto Ferrari of SQLBI will talk about budgeting, one of the most challenging scenarios in the Power BI arena.
This session has just a few slides and a long demo. Alberto will start with simple forecasts and end up building a solution to allocate forecasts based on previous year sales. In the meantime, you'll learn about different relationships in Power BI. And of course… there will be a lot of DAX fun!
You'll learn how to:
- Understand and master relationships at different granularity
- Build advanced calculated tables
- Use DAX to link tables the right way
- Detect when numbers might be wrong and need to be cleared
Alberto Ferrari of SQLBI has published several books about Analysis Services, Power BI, and Power Pivot. He is a Microsoft MVP and he earned the SSAS Maestro title, the highest level of certification on Microsoft Analysis Services technology.
Today, Alberto focuses on the delivery of DAX and data modeling workshops for Power BI and Analysis Services around the world. He consults on large and complex data warehouses. He is a well-known speaker at many international conferences, like PASS Summit, Sqlbits, and Microsoft Ignite. Outside of SQLBI, his personal time is spent practicing video games, in the vain hope of eventually beating his son.
