What we're about

This group is about growing the OpenStreetMap community here in the Bay Area. Our events are open to everyone, from open source enthusiasts, cyclists, GIS professionals, geocachers, and beyond. Anyone and everyone who is interested in maps, map making and free map data is welcome to join our group as well as attend our events.

South Bay Map Night

Link visible for attendees

Every other week, OpenStreetMap enthusiasts from across San José and the South Bay meet to share mapping plans and chat about the project in general on a call organized by Code for San José.

Please register for instructions for joining the call.

If you’re new to San José, Code for San José, or OpenStreetMap, swing by for a friendly introduction. Please come on time or attend one of Code for San José’s separate New Member Onboarding sessions.

To learn more about OpenStreetMap in the South Bay and what we’re currently up to, visit our homepage.

Stay in touch by joining the #proj-osm channel on Code for San José’s Slack workspace or the much larger OpenStreetMap U.S. community’s Slack workspace, where you can connect with local mappers across the country.
