A series of Short Talks on Accessibility Issues and their impacts on UX.
When we think about accessibility in the context of web technologies, we often associate it with designing products and services for those with disabilities. With digital technology becoming an increasingly important method for interacting with the world around us, it is critical that we design products and services that can be accessed by a people with a wide range of abilities.
At the next UXPA meetup, we will be discussing accessibility with a specific focus on methods for advancing the practice at your organization. We will be joined by speakers from SSB BART Group, Comrade, Wells Fargo and Kaiser Permanente who will be discussing their experiences improving accessibility in their company and those of their clients.
Note: Attendees are welcome to take pictures, tweet and post the talks. There is no NDA required but please respect Comrade's privacy by limiting the posts to things discussed during the meeting.

Speaker Bios:
Mark Opland – Comrade
Mark Opland brings over 15 years of experience in user-centered design, talent development, customer experience strategy and technology. Driven by a desire to create meaningful products and services, he brings a deep understanding and insight into user behavior, industry trends and technology. As the Chief Creative Officer at Comrade, he his responsible for continuously elevating creative standards across the organization.
Matt Arana – SSB BART Group
Matt Arana is the Senior Account Manager at SSB BART Group and has been working for the last 6 years providing Accessibility consulting and training for Financial Services and software companies.
Tammy Coseboom – SSB BART Group
As Director of Public Sector Sales & Product Marketing, Tammy Cosseboom leads SSB BART Group’s (SSB) business in higher education institutions, state and local government as well as the healthcare industry. Tammy’s unique blend of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) experience has allowed her and her team to help numerous organizations, states and countries achieve digital accessibility compliance.
Brenda Roukey – SSB BART Group
As an Account Manager with over 10 years of experience, Brenda has managed a vast array of clients ranging from software development companies to financial institutions. In her current Account Management role with SSB BART Group, Brenda manages the Education vertical by providing her vast array of accessibility expertise and consulting services.
David Ashleydale – Wells Fargo
David established a web accessibility program at a large financial institution and has maintained it for over five years. He started in the user experience area and has since moved on to compliance, keeping his career focused on the question of how to institutionalize accessibility at one of the largest companies in America.
Anna Duncan – Kaiser Permanente
Anna Duncan has enjoyed a rich and varied career with Kaiser Permanente. She spent 25 years working in care delivery administration before segueing to the Digital Services Group (DSG) in 2009. In DSG she works in the Quality division and her responsibilities include accessibility.
