This group's meet-ups are an opportunity to experience fantastic Bay Area hiking in the company of other fabulous women! Most hikes (but not all) will be moderate to strenuous and more than 6-miles in length at locations throughout the Bay Area. We love hiking and we love good company. Join us!
Joining the hikes with Bay Area Women's Hiking Group is entirely voluntary. Participants signing up for an event fully understand the risks, dangers, and hazards associated with any outdoor activity, and freely accept and fully assume all such risks, dangers and hazards, and further agree to release and discharge the Organizer, Co-Organziers, Assistant Organizers, and Event Organizers of the Bay Area Women's Hiking Group from and against any and all liability arising from your participation in the group activities. Each person who signs up for an event is responsible for their own safety.
It is each hiker's responsibility to ensure that they are sufficiently prepared, fit and healthy to participate in the event. You are expected to bring sufficient water, food, and appropriate clothing, as well as first aid and any other necessary equipment. Hike organizers make no warranties about the quality, safety, or supervision of these activities. By signing for an event, you are accepting all the rules of the event.
The Organizers in this group are volunteers. Our Organizers are neither professional guides nor do they have special training or qualifications. The sole role of the organizer is to organize the event. Think of them as friends hiking in a group with you. They are not responsible for your safety or actions or anyone else’s. They are not responsible for any incident during the event. They are not responsible for carpool arrangements to the Meetups, or for incidents during carpools.
If you are unable to attend a hike, please update your RSVP. No-shows are unkind. If you are a no-show more than 3 times, we may remove people for flaking without notification, and this could be your only warning.
