What we're about

This is a faster-paced walking/hiking for fitness group. The routes will often include stairs, hills and sights to take in. On occasion we might climb some boulders. Urban walks will be held in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley and other nearby communities, while nature hikes will be centered in the East Bay Hills and Marin Headlands. The average distances will be 5-8 miles. Sometimes we'll take a cafe break depending on time and location. We will take public transportation when we do a one way walk. In general, they will be held on weekends and weekdays after work. Get your tennies ready!

Annual Membership Fee: 10.00 to cover Meetup dues and Organizer planning to be paid at your first event.

Explore Angel Island: Perimeter trail and to the top! Ride the Historic F-line

This is a last minute post since it looks like dry weather, although trails could be wet. I haven't fully explored the island so this will be an adventure we'll have together. We'll do the loop around the island and hike to the top for unparalleled views. Depart 10:00/10:15 F-line MUNI (or E in a pinch,) to catch the 11:10 Ferry from Pier 41. Return is either 3:30 or 4:30 Ferry back to Pier 41 depending on hike time. Bring snacks, lunch, and we'll see what facilities are there. I know there is a restroom at the ferry terminal. I am not going to pre-plan this except to give you information about the transportation! Buy your ferry tickets online if you wish. Depending on the Muni we take we could arrive anywhere from 30-45 minutes early to allow for you to purchase tickets at the ferry terminal as well. I'm choosing one MUNI stop that is before the Ferry Building so it'll be easier to find each other. I'll be wearing a black beanie and down jacket! Ferry departs Pier 41 at 11:10 if you wish to meet us there. Muni 2:75 cash or Clipper Card To pre-purchase tickets for Ferry, go to this link: https://www.blueandgoldfleet.com/ferry/angel-island/
