d3 fast and slow

Loggly has graciously offered to host our next meetup (with food and drink!) as well as a fun contest!

We will have two exciting talks:
Daniel Roesler - d3 on cheap smartphones
Daniel got his hands on the new Firefox OS phone and has been looking at d3 related performance on cheap mobile hardware. He has some interesting findings to share with us!

Victor Powell - DZ: dealing with 3d data in d3
Victor has been developing a new library for dealing with 3d data in a d3 like way: https://github.com/vicapow/dz
with some sweet examples:
http://vicapow.github.io/dz/example/line-plot.html
http://vicapow.github.io/dz/example/dna.html
He will share his motivations and ideas behind the library!

Victor Powell's demo made me go 'ooooh, nice!'; Dan Roesler's demo made me go 'hmmm, I need to look at this more.
Victor's demo of 3d meshes in d3 is something I'm looking for a project to use on, really sweet.
Dan's demo of svg/d3 rendering on cheap smartphones shows the promise and limitations of d3 on small screens with relatively weak processors.
