Wikipedia Data Design Challenge 2017

Details

Come to the Wikimedia Foundation to discover, design, and build the data visualizations and tools for the fast evolving encyclopedia in the world. The Wikipedia Data Design Challenge (WDDC) is an event connecting development, design, and data science with the vast possibilities of Wikipedia.

The event features keynotes from Dario Taraborelli, Wikimedia's Head of Research, and Maciej Ceglowski, founder of Pinboard, as well as several tutorials about all aspects of the Wikimedia platform. There's no faster way to learn systems and access data than working with Wikimedia employees and community volunteers.

Meet developers, designers, and data scientists, and form cross-sectional teams to hack on projects that will later be presented for all to see. The event is free. Wikimedia is a nonprofit that depends on your support. Your data visualization or code could be your greatest donation to Wikipedia yet!
