What we’re about
Allow me to introduce myself and also give you an update on this group as well as two related groups. I have met a few of you over the years in the Columbus Studio Photography meetups - that is how I started getting into studio photography 7 years ago.
I recently retired from my day job, and decided to open my own studio, in large part because I miss the (now closed) R&L Digital studio these groups had used for so long. You can see more information at http://studio8cbus.com/.
Jon and I talked about options for the groups, and he asked me to assume the organizer role, which I have done. This applies to all 3 groups:
- Columbus Studio Photography (https://www.meetup.com/Columbus-Studio-Photography/)
- Columbus Premium Photography (https://www.meetup.com/Columbus-Premium-Photography/)
- Learn Photography (https://www.meetup.com/Beginning-and-Intermediate-Photography/)
I plan to restart regular meetups, but slowly at first, e.g. once every 4-6 weeks, until I have a better sense of the demand for these events. I also need to still figure out how to make the 3 groups distinct. For now, most events will be posted in Columbus Studio Photography. I encourage you to join all three groups now, but I plan to announce meetups in all three groups so you can decide later.
Hope to see you at future meetups!

Studio Lighting Methods - Fashion and Fashion Nudes
87 E Innis Ave, Columbus, OH, USNote: this event also appears in the Columbus Studio Photography group.
This workshop combines instruction on studio lighting with the creation of beautiful images with our model Ember (aka The China Glamour). We explore the use of multiple lights to create different moods and looks. In each set you can choose to capture fashion of fashion-nude (topless) looks - your preference.
Ember is an experienced commercial, boudoir, and artistic model so you are sure to get good results.
We work on a number of sets that illustrate the tools we have in the studio to create interesting lighting concepts. We go over the goals for each set, and the technical approaches to achieve those goals.
The workshop is limited to 5 photographers who will take turns working with the model, no "paparazzi" style shooting from the side will be allowed.
Register here or at
https://www.ggreyphoto.info/event-registrationNote that Ember can be booked for one-on-one shoots after the workshop. Use the web registration to request a slot.
