Open Bioinformatics: The Transcriptome and the Proteome
public group

Details
Third installment in the Open Bioinformatics Workshop. Our goal is to create some simple synthetic biology parts for the Glowing Plant project (glowingplant.com), publish an article and place them in the public domain.
The project involves us talking about a new type of biological data every time we meet. Everyone is encouraged to bring a laptop and engage hands on work with the data.
This unit will look at transcriptome data in the form of microarray RNA expression data and we'll also start looking at proteomic data from Protein Mass Spectroscopy and Electrophoresis.
We'll start with a 45 minute talk and then break into working groups for 2 hours or so.
