First in a series of four weekly sprints, we will be studying and implementing Recommendation Engine algorithms. We will start with Collaborative Filtering and then slowly expand in to other algorithms as well.

We will also be using MongoDB and build a complete recommendation engine using Ruby and a presentation layer using Ruby-on-Rails. There will be four sprints before teams demo their recommendation engines.

In this meetup, we will have an introductory session about Recommendation engines and then form teams of people to work on recommendation engines over the next month (these will be weekly sessions).
