What we’re about
Big Data Madison promotes the understanding and adoption of technologies used to acquire, store, and analyze data in all its forms. This spans everything from data engineering to data science.
Everyone is encouraged to attend, no level of experience is too basic to join and learn.
We will focus on some of the technologies used in the Big Data ecosystem (Hadoop, Spark, streaming data and data processing, etc), as well as topics in Data Science (machine learning, data visualization, analytics and more). We will try to balance the topics between technology talks, use cases, and demos.

Join us for a hands-on exploration of how AI is revolutionizing the design-to-code workflow, making it faster, more efficient, and accessible to designers and developers alike. In this presentation, we’ll walk through three powerful AI-enhanced workflows that are transforming how we build digital products:
The Subframe to Cursor Handoff: Starting with Figma designs, we'll use Subframe to generate clean React code, then import to Replit for full application development.
The Direct Figma to Replit Bridge: Learn how to import Figma designs directly into Replit, eliminating intermediate steps while maintaining design fidelity.
The Prompt-to-Product Pipeline: Discover how to go from concept to styled application by prompting directly in Replit and leveraging Shadcn-ui for polished interfaces.
We’ll do live demonstrations of each workflow, discussing options for when to use which approach, and learn practical tips for maintaining design quality while leveraging AI acceleration. We'll cover common pitfalls, best practices for prompt engineering in design contexts, and how to maintain human-centered design principles when working with AI tools.
Whether you're a designer curious about code generation, a developer looking to streamline your workflow, or a product manager wanting to understand emerging design-dev processes, you'll leave with actionable insights and clear next steps.
