Beer is one of the oldest biotechologies known to mankind.
Have you ever enjoyed a beer and wondered how they imparted all the flavors you're tasting?
Are you interested in learning how to apply science to creating your own? Then this class is perfect for you!
In this class being offered through BioCurious, fermentation specialist Alex Porter will explain the science and process behind all of this!
Alex has worked in the biotech industry for over twenty years and brings applied science to his class.
You'll learn how to build the recipe of your favorite beer styles - from selecting the malt and hops to the yeast that will grow and create your own brew!
This class will provide all of the materials necessary for the entire process - and you'll have the option of taking the beer home!
(If you're interested in taking the beer home, bottling instructions are also included)
Class runs approximately four and a half hours with a half hour break. Cheers!
(NOTE: This class is 21+!)
Alex Porter has worked in various biotech sectors around the SF bay for over twenty years. What started as a side job at a start-up in community college developed into a career. One of the mainstays of most biotechnology companies is to create their bioproducts using fermentation. Throughout the years, he became a study in the demands of many single cell organisms. Now he's applying this knowledge towards his own microbrewery in San Carlos, Ca. An avid homebrewer, he loves to 'geek out' on beer!
