About us
Greetings!
Welcome to the Wellington Bitcoin community!

Regardless of your level of knowledge, we encourage you to get involved, no question is too silly to ask!
We'll also use this group to keep you updated on other Bitcoin events going on, such as the thrice-yearly Bitkiwi Bitcoin Events that we run in New Zealand's main centres.

Bitkiwi XV
Dux Central, 144 Lichfield Street, Christchurch, NZHere comes Bitkiwi XV, and we’re pumped!
This will be the third Bitkiwi event held in Christchurch, and the first two were a blast.Last time we were there in 2024 we had Cody Ellingham of the Transformation of Value host a speaking panel comprised of some interesting kiwi bitcoiners (you can watch it here).
Christchurch always brings a decent crowd, there’s been a decent Bitcoin presence down there for some time now, with a long-running meet-up and a lot of interesting Bitcoin enthusiasts in the area.
It will be great to visit again, and we’re sure a bunch of new Bitcoiners will be along.
We’ve got a couple of speakers locked in, and we're busy lining up a third.
With that, we’re pleased to announce our first two speakers!
Francisco Colombo
Francisco is the co-founder of Bitcoin Journey, a project focused on making Bitcoin education simple and accessible through live workshops.
With a background in law, fluency in English, Spanish, and Italian, and over eight years of experience in the Bitcoin space, he explains Bitcoin in clear, practical terms to diverse audiences.Jason Crowe
Jason is a prominent Wellington executive leader with a background in financial markets, and is a member of Bitcoin Policy New Zealand.
He gave a great talk at our Wellington event back in October, giving some interesting and surprising insights into several different aspects of Bitcoin.
As always, Bitkiwi events are free and open to all. These events are great for older and newer Bitcoiners alike – whether you’re coming along to ask questions and learn about Bitcoin for the first time, or you’re an experienced OG looking to chat with like-minded plebs, you’ll have a great time.
Bitkiwi XV will be at the Dux Central, on March 7th, starting at 1pm.
See you there!
