Workshop: Decred - Why Governance Matters

Decred is excited to be hosting an informative workshop with the singapore cryptocurrency and blockchain community! We have teamed up with StartupToken to deliver a session that will be sure to expand your understanding of the industry and key concepts that are underpinning the development of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.

The 1 hour workshop agenda will include:

• An introduction to Decred
• A short history of how Decred was formed
• An overview of Decred's governance model
• Summary of what sound money is
• A deep dive into blockchain governance
• Case studies into why governance matters
• Community Q&A

The speaker for the night will be Decred's Asia Pacific Lead, Joshua Buirski. He is a decentralized technologies purist, focusing on open-source protocols, on-chain governance, and interoperability. Joshua coordinates much of the Decred Project's Asia-Pacific strategy & operations, in addition to being a core contributor to the Block Collider protocol.

We will also be extending invitations to industry influencers, technology builders and investors - bringing together a group of people that will have a forum to discuss and share their views on key concepts in the space.

The event will be held at WeWork's office in 22 Cross St, starting at 6pm. Food & Drinks will be provided, as well as an invitation to join the community for drinks at a bar nearby to further network and share insights with each other.
