Let's Play Mah Jongg!!! Weekly Wednesday Afternoon Game
This WEEKLY meetup is for those who already know to play American Style Mah Jongg, know how to play per National Mah Jongg League Rules and are able to play independently. Whether you're fairly new to the game or a long time player, come join this friendly group of players. To play you will need the 2018 National Mah Jongg League Card. If you have a mah jongg set that includes the 152 tiles, (with the 8 jokers), 4 racks and a pair of dice please post if you are able to bring your set to play with on game day. If you have a pad for the table, please bring that too, if you can. Per NMJL rules, each table with build the wall, roll the dice to determine who is East, East will roll the dice to determine where to break the wall. Double Charleston's are played unless your hand determines that you are unable to do so. Please make sure you announce that you may not be able to do a second Charleston before tiles for the second Charleston starts to be passed. Boardwalk has 4 tables designated for this weekly meetup so 16 players can play, 20 if we rotate East. I will cap the meetup at 20 players. Play starts promptly at 1:00pm. Please try to be on time and keep your RSVP's current. If there are not enough players signed up by 11am game day, I will contact players signed up to cancel. GUESTS: You are welcome to bring a guest if they meet the criteria to play. If you are visiting the Greenville area you are welcome to join us during your stay here. PLAYERS, please do not put any drinks/food on the tables while playing and no cell phones please. THERE IS NO CHARGE TO COME PLAY. For those who would like to know a little more about the game you can read about it at the link below: ***Please note: If you are interested in just observing the game to see if this is a game you may want to learn, you do not neet to sign up as a player, but please contact me directly to let me know you are interested in watching so we can have adequate number of chairs for those who want to observe. We will NOT be teaching how to play. If anyone is interested in taking lessons, local MJ teacher Barbara Berger teaches classes. I can provide info if anyone is interested, just message me.
