Thank you for bringing this up and also using the message system. People rarely log in to read the message boards, so this gives us a way to communicate and keep a convo going among group members. Messages are sent to those members interested in recieving them via email. If they decide to not receive them via email, they can always read messages by clicking on the "Messages" link found at the site.

We do have meetups. We've had two in our existence, but due to the lack of interest in last nights meetup and my inability to check on any RSVP's with under 24 hours before the show, I decided to cancel since nobody showed any interest. There was plenty of time to RSVP, there was no interest, so it was taken off. The show last night was awesome by the way. I was going to the show whether anyone showed up or not.

I'll probably repeat this in a group-wide email in the next few days, but I'm looking for people in the group to learn more about each other, their musical tastes and create their own little group outings, without it being a group sponsored event. The problem is that the music interests for most members are narrow. I can only schedule and run so many shows per month and  I don't want to shove my favorites down everyones throat. Over the next month or so, I'm going to look for co-admins to schedule meetups. I'll get more into this in a later email.

I do have a future meetup in's at Abbey Lounge on the 27th of April. I may schedule another show before that, but I'm going to a lot of shows this month in NH, ME, RI and Worcester, so it's difficult to find free time on my schedule that isn't a week night. The first meetup was scheduled on a weeknight...most shows start at 9pm, so it's hard for people who have to get up early to go.

I'll go into this a little further in the future. As for my personal interests...I enjoy the small venues like yourself. Locally, I really like The Peasants, Sasquatch and the Sick-a-Billys, Ghouls Night Out, The Howl...just to name a few. There are a lot of great bands out there and I look forward to seeing and hearing them all. :)

Assuming this is how I start a thread, I am curious what area live band clubs members like.  Lately I am mostly hitting Cambridge bars with live original music, for instance I hit the TOAD a lot, also places in Central, occasionally Johnny D's etc.  Saw Dennis Brennan Band at Lizard Lounge.

Interested in exploring the Boston live music scene and would like some recommendations.

Also is there a plan to do concerts etc?
