Last November, we welcomed internationally renowned Uke Master and teacher Peter Moss to our shores. For those who attended, it was a day for an inspiring and musical-life-changing workshop. Peter is returning with a new program in April.

This program will inclue new material for those who attended last time and game-changing lessons for those who could not make it.

Peter has been playing the ukulele since the age of 8, and now is known worldwide for his performing, recording, and teaching. He has toured America, Canada, Europe, and Australia and has been featured in articles and on BBC Radio and Television. Beyond performing, Peter teaches, both in workshops and over the Internet. He also provides lessons worldwide via SKYPE and often streams live sessions. UKE-TINERARY

PART 1

9:30am
REGISTRATION . MEET and GREET. Please arrive in good time and also for the best seats.

10:00am – 11:00am
STRUM AND VOCAL WORKSHOP. "LET'S SING A SONG!"
Intermediate: Using the Popular Carpenters song “Sing” The piece will change key three times with over 25 chords. It has been written in two stages of difficulty so everyone can come to the party. For those that like to sing, this is the perfect workshop having separate Ladies and Gents parts and simple harmonies thrown in for good measure.

BREAK

11:15am - 12:15pm
STRUM AND VCAL WORKSHOP. "ANYTHING GOES"
Intermediate - Strum and Vocal workshop - ANYTHING GOES - Utilising the song of the same. This is a very upbeat workshop with a great “feel good" factor. Anything and everything has been included to add a bit of fun into the mix. It progresses through 2 different keys for a bit of variety. At one point there will be a split into 2 part vocals and no Ukes then back in with instruments for a big crescendo finale.

LUNCH

1:00-2:00pm
CONCERT
Peter will dazzle on both the ukulele and banjolele in an entertaining one hour variety concert.

2:15pm-2:45
MASTER CLASS. PART 1 "9 INTO 7 DOES GO.."
Intermediate: Four basic 9th shapes explored and how to ulilize them as subsitutions of the basic 7th chords This is not too tricky and will open a whole new sound to your playing.

2:45pm – 3:45 pm
MASTER CLASS. PART 2 "SYNCOPATION TECHNIQUES"
Let's get the right hand doing something different to the basic four-down strums to a bar. Peter will break it down into simple steps with various patterns and gradually place them in a tune. Five Foot Two has never sounded so good.

4:00pm – 5:00 pm
MASTER CLASS. PART 3 "AN INRODUCTION TO PLAYING MELODY"
Featuring a jazz standard, Bye Bye Blues. We will explore how to play the chords and melody together, learn how to do some basic fingerpicking and finally jazzing it up with substituted chords that will make you sound like a pro.
