• What you will learn

  • runs and riffs that are easy to master but impressive to hear
  • essential riffs
  • tricks to embellish a simple melody
  • what you can do to break the repetitive strumming

Doors open at 11:45 am to begin promptly at noon and end at 1:30 pm
Cash $20 collection on site.

Pre-requisite:
how to tune and play the basic up and down strokes and primary chords; naming conventions (fret number, string number, instrument parts)

Unique opportunity to play music in what was the oldest chocolate factory in America, in this beautiful area of Neponset River.

• What to bring

Ukulele + clip-on tuner, own refreshments & snacks (optional to share)
Provided: tables, chairs, free wifi.

If you decide to cancel, please give more than 24-hours notice. No shows will be flagged. We need a minimum number of 6 to hold this workshop. If not, it will be cancelled with 24-hour notice.

The Walter Baker building has huge letters WALTER BAKER above the building (as in the photo shown here) and 1231 above the front entrance. There is no doorbell, so please knock on the inner front doors loudly and/or shine your smartphone into the window to the right where the workshop is held.

Instructor:
Dr Robert Bekkers has been teaching guitar and ukulele both privately and at various music schools. He is the conductor of the Boston Guitar Orchestra.
