Ukulele Holiday Stroll in Historic Lower Mills at Walter Baker Building
Details
• What we'll do
For the first time in the history of this famous building (the former administrative offices of the Baker Chocolate Company), we will be singing and playing ukuleles on the interior floors pictured above. This is also the home of the Choco-leles, the newest addition to Ukulele Union of Boston, meeting each week in the Common Room.
For the annual Holiday Stroll in Lower Mills to correspond with Christmas tree lighting (https://www.dotnews.com/calendar/2018/holiday-tree-lightings-dorchester) , the general public is invited to "stroll" through the Walter Baker building, to view the permanent exhibit of the artists in residence and join us in singing (and playing) Christmas songs. Historian A. Sammarco will be signing and selling his book "The Baker Chocolate Company: a sweet history" and answering questions about the home of the first chocolate factory in this country.
Participants are welcome to bring guests and support our performance with home-made food and beverage contributions & photo/video.
At our previous public event in Milton in early November, we counted 40 ukulele players - see
