• What we'll do

The theme today is SONGS FROM IRELAND. Did you know that the lyricist of "Danny Boy" was an English lawyer who had never set foot in Ireland? More about it here:
https://corymbus.co.uk/tracing-the-origins-of-danny-boy/

The song list with links to song sheets will be available a week before this event. Some songs: Dirty Old Town, Fields of Athenry, Wild Rover, Ride On, and songs of Irish Groups such as The Cranberries, U2.

SONGBOOK: http://www.anneku.com/songbooks/ireland_ukulele_songbook.pdf

We start promptly at 5:30 pm, so arrive beforehand to tune up and find a good seat. After we end and pack up, join us for a drink at a nearby pub classic Irish style!

• About Fun with Ukulele Series

To share our love of making music together, our group (based in Historic Lower Mills) will introduce the JOY of playing the ukulele in a group with a larger space with song lyrics and chords projected onto a big white wall.

Did you know that you can borrow a new soprano ukulele (in a soft case) and a clip-on tuner at the nearby Adams Street Branch of the Boston Public Library? Currently, it's the only branch where you can do so.

The Lower Mills Branch of the Boston Public Library is providing light refreshments, including newly popped POPCORN!!

This is a FREE event, but we happily welcome your donation or contribution or sponsorship to support this once-a-month initiative and fundraise towards our activities for our home base at the Walter Baker Artist Lofts.

Plenty of FREE parking on the street and lots of CVS / church directly opposite. The library is also a short walking distance from the Milton T-station (Mattapan trolley from Ashmont on the Red Line) or any of the buses that stop on Dorchester and Washington.

• What to bring
Ukulele + tuner. We will use the library's projector to beam/project song sheets.
