Details

It's September and we're back with more D3.js presentations to get excited about!

This month, we'll be at Galvanize Boulder on Tuesday 9/15 @ 6 PM with two presenters:

Anthony Chavez - Executive Interactive Producer, Dfuzr Industries
"Designing for D3"
Anthony will discuss planning your data narrative, designing the data visualization to tell a story, and finally, how to implement the story with D3, complete with repositories in which to experiment!

Monte Lunacek - Staff Scientist, Computational Science Group at the National Renewable Energy Lab
"Using D3 to Visualize and Interact with Distribution Grid Simulation Data"
The ability to interact with a visualization directly and create transitions between visual states are two characteristics that really make d3 worth the extra effort when compared to standard plotting packages in Python, R, and Matlab. Monte will present examples from the work he currently has on residential energy modeling. Then we will look at a few small examples that highlight some of the key challenges that occur when adding interactions and transitions to one or more SVG objects in a visualization.

Make sure to RSVP soon to save your spot! We'll have pizza, beverages (both adult and non-adult), and plenty of good information to soak up. Can't wait to see you there!

Sincerely,

Danielle Bilbruck
Director of Marketing, Dfuzr Industries
