So, I'm on a new kick to make a dent in the "1000 books to read before you die" list, which led me to this book by Jonathan Safran Foer:
With only a yellowing photograph in hand, a young man - also named Jonathan Safran Foer - sets out to find the woman who may or may not have saved his grandfather from the Nazis. Accompanied by an old man haunted by memories of the war; an amorous dog named Sammy Davis, Junior, Junior; and the unforgettable Alex, a young Ukrainian translator who speaks in a sublimely butchered English, Jonathan is led on a quixotic journey over a devastated landscape and into an unexpected past.
As promised, your hike update:
Looks like the weather will be ok, so let's plan on hiking the South Boulder Creek West trail. Part of a larger trail system, so there isn't a definite distance, but let's plan on 3-4 miles. If the weather doesn't cooperate we will sit at the coffee shop to discuss the book.
