Boulder CO New in Town & Locals too, is dedicated to welcoming new residents into the Boulder metro area and remembering all us locals too!
We are people new and old to Colorado, looking to meet like-minded individuals to share exciting times. Our group will meet at least once per month with a social activity, including happy hours, hiking, ski trips, bowling, whatever the season permits. May also include possible volunteer activities and new things to learn, for the proper balance of life.
This group is created as a get together in a non-stuffy setting to meet others over cocktails, fitness, and learning. We look forward to meeting you!
I have been hosting a Holiday dinner at my home north of Longmont for people with no close family here in Colorado for the past few years. I alternate yearly between Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year it is Thanksgiving again! If you find yourself with plans that got derailed, or perhaps you're new to the area, or like me, you just have no big plans for Turkey Day, sign up and join us for a fun, friendly and festive potluck!
PLEASE READ MY ENTIRE DESCRIPTION SO YOU KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. ALSO, BE RESPECTFUL AND DO NOT RSVP AND DROP OUT LAST MINUTE. THAT IS NOT FAIR TO ME AND THE OTHERS BUYING FOOD. IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT GOING DON'T RSVP UNTIL YOUR'RE CERTAIN YOU WANT TO COME!
The dinner will be at my house in Berthoud north of Longmont. I am near the Boulder County line about 4 miles north of Highway 66 off of Highway 287. For point of reference, it takes me about 35 minutes to hit Pearl Street in Boulder. The event will begin at 1pm and end around 5 or 6pm. Dinner will be served around 2 or 2:30pm. I will supply the turkey, gravy, candied carrots and acorn squash (both home grown from my garden! Yum.....) Everyone else must bring a potluck Thanksgiving item to share. Please post the item you will bring in this meetup description so we don’t end up with 57 pounds of mashed potatoes!
If your item needs to be warmed, try to bring it in a crock pot and we can plug it in at my place to keep it warm until we eat. I will have some limited stove and oven space. Please bring an appropriate serving utensil for whatever potluck item you are making. I will have plenty of plates, cups/glasses and dinner utensils for our dinner.
I will also have some beer, gin, vodka and hard seltzer at my place, but if you want wine (I’m not a wine guy, so I don’t really stock it) or something I don't have listed you will want to bring that too. Absolutely NO 420 please. Thank you.
OK…that’s about it. This is a multi Meetup event with both my Fort Collins and Boulder 9th Hour Happy Hour groups, Boulder New in Town and Laid back Singles.
