Description: This talk will discuss how to create your own React components and will introduce the concept of the virtual DOM. We'll also cover core concepts like props and state.

Bio: Sean Helvey is an Associate Instructor at Galvanize Boulder. Sean started coding in quantitative finance classes at Cal Poly SLO and built option pricing models on Wall Street before completing a Master's Degree in Computer Science at NYU's Courant Institute.
Sean has over 5 years of experience as a software engineer. Most recently he developed machine learning systems at Pearson before finding his dream job at Galvanize. In his free time, Sean loves planning surf trips and functional programming.

There is a parking lot on the South side of Canyon Drive between Broadway and 9th (and also one off of Arapahoe) that gives 1.5 hours free parking if you enter you license plate number in the kiosk. It is free after 7:00 so if you park there just after 5:30 you can park for the rest of the evening for free... just dont forget to enter your LP into the kiosk!
Free street parking South of Arapahoe and West of 9th.
Parking meters downtown are free after 7pm.
Parking garage under The Julien charges 24hrs a day, but is the quickest and easiest option.
