ROUND 1 - Fundamentals of Improv (9 weeks) Tuesdays
Welcome to Ground Zero! This is your launching point to the world of improvisation. Take this class and earn bragging rights. You already rock for considering this life-changing (really) art form.
Course Description: Throughout this 9-week course, students will begin to establish the skills and understandings outlined below through the practice of improv exercises and activities. This course is designed as an introduction to improv for performance and as a prerequisite for BIC’s Round 2 coursework. Students leaving this course will have a basic working understanding of the fundamentals of improvisational theater as well as develop an increased level of comfort on stage and in live performance. The course will conclude with a class student showcase before an audience of family and friends.
Basic skills from this course will include:
• Begin character development
• Establish Beginning, Middle and End in scenes.
• Accept and Expand
• Build Stage/Performance Comfort
• Learn the importance of failing and moving on
