Winot Niwot Loop

Details
You will need a mask for going into Winot Coffee. Please do not attend if you are not feeling well or have been exposed to anyone with any COVID-19 variant in the past two weeks.
TYPE: Urban hike | PACE: Conversational | TERRAIN: dirt trails, sidewalks, streets | DISTANCE: Approx. 7 miles
Walk Description: Why not enjoy a 7-mile Niwot adventure on a Saturday? This route starts at Winot Coffee in Niwot's central Cottonwood Square shopping center and follows the Niwot Loop trails along Dry Creek and the Boulder and Left Hand Ditch. Rather than following the classic loop (hike #22 in "The Best Urban Hikes: Boulder"), we'll cut through a quiet neighborhood for a new adventure! Here's a link to the map for this hike: https://caltopo.com/m/TRF08
Schedule and Planning: We'll start and end at Niwot Coffee. We will start walking at 9:05, so please be on time. It should be fine to park in the shopping center lot (especially if you arrive early for a beverage at Winot Coffee or breakfast at the Garden Gate Cafe). If you don't feel good about parking in the shopping center lot, you can park on the street on 2nd Ave. north of Niwot Road.
Walking Movement Leader: Darcy Kitching started leading walks with the Walk2Connect Cooperative in 2015. She is the author of "The Best Urban Hikes: Boulder" (https://cmcpress.org/products/the-best-urban-hikes-boulder). You can reach her at 303-250-2436 or besturbanhikesboulder@gmail.com.
Trip Notes:
~ Dogs on 6' or shorter leashes (no retractable leashes, please) are welcome. Please be sure your dog will be comfortable walking 7 miles.
~ Dress comfortably for the weather, bring sun protection and water, and anything else you need to stay comfortable outside.
Waiver: By signing up for this walk, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your own safety and well-being throughout the event. This is a volunteer-led experience. Volunteers are not liable for any injury or illness that may happen during the event or that results from participating in this event. Please take good care to only sign up for walks or hikes that are within your skill level and comfort. As always, have fun and be safe!
