The truth is Colorado businesses need more access to capital. One of the biggest challenges is that it takes a long time to network to find investors. Depending on your exemption they can only be accredited investors or what most people call angels.

However there are many more unaccredited investors and many of them want to fund your business. It is estimated that private personal investments annually is larger than the angel and VC markets combined.

This free skillshop will teach you the basics of crowdfunding and the two registrations available in Colorado which upon approval will allow you to generally solicit, promote and advertise for investors. This is important, you could literally place an ad in the Denver Post asking people to attend a presentation where every person in the room could legally invest if they are a CO resident!

This is the intent of the JOBS Act and crowdfunding, however this will not be available until next year at the earliest.
