What we're about
Love science? Curious about the world?
Meet with us every other Tuesday to listen to UCI researchers discuss their latest cutting-edge research on nearly every topic imaginable, from neuroscience and physics, all the way to humanities, social sciences, and the arts! Recent topics have included how artificial intelligence can learn to detect lung cancer, how butterflies see the world, why meth-addicted rats can’t get through rehab, and why the data show it really was a bad idea for your teacher to give you detention back in the 8th grade. There’s a new topic every meeting, and a researcher eager to answer your questions in the Q & A session. No, sorry, we can’t tell your 8th grade teacher she was mistaken. But ask us anything else!
We’re passionate about science, and we want to share what we’ve learned with you. We think science literacy is crucial in this age, and we’d love to share our knowledge. And since we work so many hours in the lab, we’d like to take a break and share a drink with you, too. Join us!
If you're a UCI graduate student or postdoctoral scholar interested in being a speaker, contact us here or at firstname.lastname@example.org!
