What we're about

Join us for a new Foundation in Christian living. We are a progressive Christian group but one quite unlike the familiar church (of either the “hymns” or “guitars” kind). Our worship is shaped by both ancient and contemporary traditions; we're exploring monastic, contemplative, alternative, and creative and we've already established some wonderful musical habits with jazz, blues and ambient music.

Given locldown 2 we are back to meeting by zoom. We’re also zoom-meeting most days at various times and our community is growing and broadening geographically as a result.

So do join us for services, book groups, open mic nights, discussion groups, and drinks evenings.

Everyone, wherever and whoever, is welcome.

Sunday worship

Cotham Parish Church

Join us each Sunday as we build a creative contemplative community. Our Sunday services include elements inspired by the Taize and Iona communities and seek to reflect the Greenbelt values of faith, arts and justice. All are welcome.

During Lockdown 2 we are again meeting by zoom. Codes will be emailed to group members each week.

Please take a look at some of our virtual resources as the way we are experimenting by clicking the link below:

For information on how to join our services via zoom here are the zoom meeting details:

Our services follow a pattern:
-in the first week of the month we have a compline-inspired service with lots of silence, candles and taize chants
-in the second week of the month we have we have 'create' where anything can happen. Previous services have included ambient music, Aretha Franklin songs and lots of fairy lights!
-in the third week of the month we have 'table' a communion service reflecting Jesus' table ministry
-on the last Sunday we have an alternative worship service called Last Sunday. It's very exciting. The last one featured hats and Dr Seuss.

After the service we often go to the pub (in real life) or a zoom-chat.
