Delivering on the Promise of Data Science: An Evening with Eric Siegel

  • This location is shown only to members

  • We are super pleased to host international prediction luminary, rap star and Burlington native-son, Eric Siegel for our mid-December meetup.

This event will have high attendance and is doubling as our annual holiday party so plan to stay late and grab some of Arts Riot's excellent drink and food and socialize with all the cool folks in the Burlington data science community.

Also, this talk is not just for data scientists (!). Eric is quite expert at explaining and making data science concepts accessible to broad audiences. Please, help expand our community and invite non-data sciencey folks who you think might be interested in what data science has to offer organizations seeking to become more data driven.

    About the talk...

Recently the excitement over data science and “big data” has grown dramatically. But what is the value, the function, the purpose? The most actionable win to be gained from data is prediction. This is achieved by analytically learning from data how to render predictions for each individual. Such predictions drive more effectively the millions of operational decisions that organizations make every day.

Eric founded Predictive Analytics World, has written a best selling book on prediction and speaks widely on how predictive analytics works, and the ways in which data science delivers value to organizations across industry sectors.

This event is generously sponsored by Cox Automotive.

We would gladly host, but Middlebury is likely a little too out of the way for most folks. How about Winooski? My friends at ReadingPlus might be able to host (depending on the number of attendees).

Thanks Reinhold. We're working on a couple of options within Burlington, but let's keep that in mind. What do you think their capacity at Reading Plus would be?

No worries, Greg. Their capacity is ~100.
